Speaker Series Event in Washington, DC
Coakley Realty was proud to host its 6th Speakers Series since its start in 2017! Bringing together leading experts of the Washington DC metro area, attendees had the opportunity to hear from Fairfax County’s Economic Development Authority President and CEO, Victor Hoskins. Victor detailed projects that he worked on throughout his career in the DMV area and highlighted some of his major accomplishments such as the thought leadership procurement of Amazon’s HQ2 in Arlington County and The Wharf in Washington, DC. He continued to emphasize the importance a connected and well-communicated team can have on ultimate success.
Additionally, Victor spoke about his fascinating experiences in private real estate investment on Wall Street, as well as his time as the Deputy Mayor of Economic Development for the District of Columbia. The audience was left awed and inspired after hearing about just how much he has been able to accomplish throughout his successful career. Under his leadership, there have been almost 375,000 new jobs created and 700 major business deals secured resulting in billions of dollars in private investment.
The attendees also had the opportunity to learn about the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) – Mid Atlantic, a nonprofit organization that strives to develop better athletes and better people. Their efforts are made by utilizing resources for youth and high school sports coaches, parents, administrators, and student-athletes.
Executive Director of PCA, Jake Wald, detailed their mission and success through inspiring videos and stories. PCA has reached more than 8.6 million youth and applies positive reinforcement such as teamwork, motivation, perseverance, and fun. They hope by instilling confidence into young athletes, they will be more inspired for success.
